The white-faced chapuchin, also known as the white-headed capuchin is found in Central America and the North Western parts of South America. The white-faced capuchin is thought to be one of the most intelligent monkeys, and is well known throughout the Americas. They range in size anywhere from 35cm to 45cm (13.8-18in), and weigh 6.4-8.6lbs. The white-faced capuchin monkeys live for about 20 years in the wild, but in captivity have been recorded to live up to 50 years. They normally have black, white and gray coloring, and as their name states, have a white face. The species are omnivores and feed mainly on fruit, leaves, and insects. They live in high tropical forests and wet lowland regions, and stay high in the trees to escape their main predators, humans, snakes, and eagles.
